Mousavi Apartment

Date: 2017

Location: Amol, Iran

Site Area: 300 m2

Built Area: 800 m2

Client: Pejman Mousavi

Mousavi Apartment was designed in Amol with humid weather of the North region. Therefore native and geographic features of the site were considered specifically. On the other hand, the project’s land was located between two rivers with green landscape which we had to use this feature.
The point that we encountered in most projects outside Tehran is lack of trained workers in construction as well as difficulty of the daily monitoring of building.
By interacting of the above challenges, main structure of the project was emerged as follows: We were able to put up openings for damp air circulation with the help of all four open sides, and also we could have a deep and wide view of the around environment simultaneously.
Furthermore, by using the alley slope and the lowest cost, the building's ground floor brought up to above the maximum current level of the water and the entrance glorified with a few stairs.
In addition, to reduce the complexity of construction, the building’s structure was designed so simple that its stability could be provided with only ten aligned columns.
Bamboo was applied in some parts of the building’s façade, especially sections where radiation was from the East and the West, so that light come into the house slowly.
Finally, we focused on small spaces which are the outcome of selections with respect to usage, dimensions, accessibility, etc.
Bedrooms with windows to the South, living and dining room are among the house with some openings, terraces in the northwest corner with very attractive view, etc.
When opening the door, we go inside and see frame of the river and green perspective and hear the sound of water; so it is not exaggeration if choose another name for it instead of “lobby”, for example “Welcome gate”.
